The Nova expedition sees Ascension Island.

1708 June 2

Le Curieux, off Ascension Island, fought a hard battle against the Dutch ship, the Grand Vainqueur de Middelbourd, and captured it: 205 prisoners, cargo seized, deputy ship as a prize, to the expedition and provided with a French crew.
