How to make friends while traveling (3/5)

Part 3 out of 5 (Go to part 2 - Go to part 4)

- Tour groups

It is much easier to enjoy some countries, like Nepal, with a tour group. There are many benefits to participating in this kind of "all-inclusive" stay, even if it's not your thing. Basically, you end up stuck with other guests like you, so you are obliged to engage in conversation and begin to make friends.

- Hiking and free tours

You do not need to travel very far to make friends. A few hours' hike may be sufficient. All tourist places offer various forms of hiking. Sign up and be open to meeting others. All you have to do is start a conversation when the guide is not talking. Most people are open to discussion when there is nothing else to do or see.

- Card game

A card game is an incredible tool for making friends. This is a great way to have fun with someone you just met.

- Ask others

Don't be afraid of ridicule. When traveling, do not hesitate to ask a stranger for directions, or for advice on what to do in the neighborhood. You don't even have to be lost to reach out to a stranger. I often ask questions even though I already know the answer. It's not a lie but just an excuse to start a conversation.
