здрасти, Bulgarian Learners! 😃

➡ In today's lesson you will learn how to use degrees of comparison of adjectives in the Bulgarian language.

Happy learning!

1. We form the comparative degree for all genders and numbers by adding the particle ПО- in front of the adjective and it is written with a hyphen between the particle and the adjective. When we compare things and people, we use the preposition ОТ.

Masculine  Feminine  Neuter  Plural
Comparative form  по-висок  по-висока  по-високо  по-високи

2. We form the superlative degree for all genders and numbers by adding the particle НАЙ- in front of the adjective. It is written with a hyphen between the particle and the adjective.

Masculine  Feminine  Neuter  Plural
Superlative form  най-висок  най-висока  най-високо  най-високи

3. Comparative and superlative forms of adjectives use the same definite articles as the main form.

Comparative form  Superlative form
m.  висок мъж  по-високия(т) мъж  най-високия(т) мъж
f.  хубава книга  по-хубавата книга  най-хубавата книга
n.  умно момче  по-умното момче  най-умното момче
