Here are some expressions and questions that can be used to talk about daily routines:

  • من هر صبح با یک فنجان قهوه شروع می‌‌کنم. (Man har sobh ba yek fenjan gahve shoro mikonam.) - I start every morning with a cup of coffee.
  • آیا تو همیشه به مدرسه با اتوبوس می‌‌روی؟ (Aya to hamisheh be madrese ba otobus miravi?) - Do you always go to school by bus?
  • من حدود ساعت نه صبح به محل کار می‌رسم. (Man hodoode sa'ate noh sobh be mahale kar mirasam.) - I usually arrive at work around 9:00 AM.

Grammar

One way to talk about your daily routine in Persian is by using the present tense of verbs. As you will notice, the present tense of verbs in Persian is quite straightforward since there are no verb conjugations that vary according to the subject (there is no difference between "I eat" and "he eats", for example).

Here is an example of a sentence that uses the present tense of a verb:

  • من هر روز با صبحانه شروع می‌کنم. (Man har roz ba sobhaneh shoro mikonam.) - I start every day with breakfast.

Here, "شروع می‌کنم‎" (shoro mikonam) is the present tense of the verb "شروع کردن" (shoro kardan) which means "to start". Note that the verb is always in the infinitive form and is preceded by "می‌کنم‎" (mikonam) which means "I do".

Another way to talk about your daily routine is by using "همیشه" (hamisheh) which means "always", "غالباً" (ghalabatan) which means "usually", or "احیاناً" (ahyaanaan) which means "sometimes". Here is an example:

  • همیشه با شستن صبحانه شروع می‌کنم. (Hamisheh ba shostan sobhaneh shoro mikonam.) - I always start with washing and having breakfast.

In this case, "همیشه" (hamisheh) is used to indicate that you always start your day with washing and breakfast.

Writing practice

Now that you know some vocabulary and grammar related to daily routines, try to write a short paragraph about your own daily routine in Persian. Use the vocabulary and expressions you have learned, and try to make your sentences as detailed as possible.

We also covered some grammar rules, such as the use of the present tense of verbs and adverbs of frequency, that are essential to construct meaningful sentences. Practicing Persian every day will contribute to your knowledge and fluency over time, and help you express yourself in more natural ways. Keep it up!
