Tips for Introducing Family Members

When introducing your family members in Thai, it is important to keep a few things in mind:

  • Use polite language when introducing elders or other people's family members.
  • Always use ของ (kɔ̌ɔng) when talking about someone who belongs to you. For example, "สาวของฉัน" (saao kɔ̌ɔng chǎn) means "my daughter".
  • Age and gender are important factors to consider when using Thai words for family members. For example, use "พี่" (phîi) for older siblings and "น้อง" (náwng) for younger siblings, regardless of gender.
