Personal Hygiene

Taking care of your personal hygiene, as in showering or bathing on a regular basis, using deodorant, and changing clothes, is something that many Swedes think is important. In fact, Swedes sometimes seem to take this a bit too seriously and shower or bathe more often than needed or recommended by specialists. A recent study showed that Swedes, on average, shower 5.5 times a week, but almost forty percent of the people asked shower every day. The same study also showed that men, on average, shower more than women. Also, looking at how much Swedes spend on hygiene products, this has almost doubled over the last nine years. This trend is something that worries some Swedish specialists who instead insist that showering or bathing three to four times a week is more than enough.
