Futuro Semplice is one of the compound tenses of the Italian language, used to express future actions. In this lesson, you will learn how to form and use Futuro Semplice tense in Italian.
Formation
To form the Futuro Semplice tense, you need the infinitive form of the verb and add the following endings:

Here are some examples:

Usage
Futuro Semplice tense is used to express future actions, events or states. Here are some examples:
- Andrò al cinema domani (I will go to the cinema tomorrow).
- Studierai Italiano quest'estate? (Will you study Italian this summer?).
- Mario comprerà un nuovo telefono (Mario will buy a new phone).
- Faremo una festa il prossimo weekend (We will have a party next weekend).
- Andrete in vacanza quest'anno? (Are you all going on vacation this year?).
- I bambini impareranno a nuotare in piscina (The children will learn how to swim in the pool).
- Faranno una passeggiata in montagna (They will take a walk in the mountains).
Note that Futuro Semplice tense can also be used to express hypothesis or doubts about a present or past action, event or state. In this case, it is translated in English as "might", "may" or "could".
- Sara verrà domani? Non lo so, potrebbe esserci un imprevisto (Will Sara come tomorrow? I don't know, she might have an unexpected thing).
- Non mi sento bene, potrei essere malato (I don't feel well, I may be sick).
Irregular Verbs
Some verbs have an irregular form when conjugated in Futuro semplice tense. Here are some of them:
