Sweden is a pretty liberal country, and this also means that it's socially acceptable to date and meet a new partner even though you're older or have gone through a divorce. The fact that older people—to a larger extent than before—are meeting new partners when they're over the age of sixty is something that has gotten attention from both media as well as researchers. Meeting a new partner when you're older might not always be easy, but there are, in fact, several platforms through which you can get to know new people. One possibility of getting to know new people, and potentially a new partner, is by getting involved in a volunteer organization. Another platform where older people can get together to form new friendships is through PRO, which is the national association for senior citizens that arranges a wide variety of activities such as lectures, excursions, and trips.
