“To be in the mood for” or “to feel like” in Hindi

“To be in the mood for this” or to “feel like this” is man lagnā, which roughly translates as “having a mind to …”.

Further examples of usage:

  • khāne kā man nahīñ lagtā = I don’t feel like eating;
  • jāne kāman nahīñ lagtā = I don’t feel like going;
  • ghar jāne kā man nahīñ lagtā = I don’t feel like going home.

Of course, by dropping the nahīñ (not), the sentences will get a positive meaning.
