Teotihuacán is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to some of the most significant Mesoamerican pyramids in the pre-Columbian Americas.

During its peak in the first half of the 1st millennium AD, Teotihuacán was the largest city in the pre-Columbian Americas, with a population estimated at 125,000 or more. It ranked among the six largest cities in the world at that time.

The city was established around 100 BC and witnessed continuous construction of major monuments until around 250 AD. While the exact end date of the city is uncertain, its major monuments were sacked and intentionally burned around 550 AD.
