To express the Past in Ukrainian you should change the end of the verb. For example verb ”писати”:
Я - писав(he)/-ла(she) (I)
Ти - писав(he)/-ла(she) (you)
Він - писав (he)
Вона - писала (she)
Воно - писало (it)
Вони - писали (they)
Ми - писали (we)
Ви - писали (You)
And same with other verbs. If it’s plural - you add ’-ли’, if it’s he - ’-в’ and she - ’-ла’

    In the Ukrainian language, the formation of the past tense depends on the gender (m/f/n), number, (singular or plural) and person (I, you, we, she)
    In a whole Past tense verbs are formed by adding the suffix -в- in the masculine gender and the suffix -л- in the feminine and neuter genders and in the plural
    I / he read - Я/він чита(в), I/he ran -Я/він біга(в), I/he played - Я/він гра(в) but sometimes there is an exception for ex. I/he brought - Я/він приніс.
    You (singular) read, ran, played - Ти (однина) чита(в), біга(в), гра(в) but You brought - Ти приніс.
    She read, ran, played - Вона чита(ла), біга(ла), гра(ла) and She brought - Вона принес(ла).
    It read, ran, played - Воно чита(ло), біга(ло), гра(ло) and It brought - Воно принес(ло).
    We/You (Plural or respective) read, ran, played, brought - Вони/Ви (множина або звертання на Ви) - чита(ли), біга(ли), принес(ли).

Поставити дієслова у минулий час. Тобто задати питання:Що робив? Чоловічий рід, Що робила? Жіночий рід, Що робило? Середній рід. Потім відповісти на питання. Наприклад, Вона їхала, вона варила, він купляв, він прибирав. Але то буде не закінчена жія, тобто щось було, а чи воно скінчилось? Вона приготовила. Він прибрав. Це вже означає, що дія була в минулому часі і завершена.
