  • A company that chooses to give promotions to those who are most performative, does not necessarily encourage employees to be allegeant to that enterprise.
  • By rewarding allegeance to the enterprise, the company can make sure that there is great number of its workers who will not quit their job in order to be promoted.
  • Nevertheless, if the only criteria which decides on whether one gets promoted or not is seniority, young employees who are highly competent and who could help the company progress might find themselves working as subordinates of incompetent co-workers whose only achievement is their allegeance to the enterprise.
