Help
It is a gathering for a meal where the participants bring food and drinks to be shared among everyone.
At a PLUC, we focus on the culinary differences between the members, and we love them!
In a PLUC, the only commonality in dishes is that they are large enough to be shared with a good portion of the anticipated guests.
The originality is that each participant brings a specialty that is typical of his/her region of origin.
The sharing of food is reminiscent of the linguistic and cultural exchanges that usually occur at Polyglot Club meetings.
While you treat your palate, don’t forget intellectual nourishment and to share tongues as well as recipes! The best place for this banquet is at a member’s home that can accommodate all diners.
A rotation system will ensure that PLUCs do not always take place at the same venue.
The purpose and benefits of a PLUC include celebrating, socializing, finger-licking, and building a healthy and diverse community.
Some of the deepest and most meaningful communication can occur over a glass of Czech absinthe and a plate of Japanese nato ;-)
