What is a "Language 1 Spoken" PLOC?

This is an adapted version of Polyglot Club's popular PLOC.

The first reason for members to enroll at PolyglotClub is to practice foreign languages, and for that reason we try to offer you a variety of opportunities.

What we propose is not JUST socializing! We have universal, humanitarian, social and professional goals as well!

We endeavor to provide an adequate and comfortable environment to match your goals.
In this mindset, we will give you the means to encourage yourself to use foreign languages orally with other users.
In PolyglotClub "Language 1 Spoken" PLOC, there is a NO FIRST LANGUAGE SPOKEN policy!! "First Language" is the official/national language spoken in your country.
This language will NOT be spoken by ANYONE during the "Language 1 Spoken" PLOC.
You can use any of the other idioms that you know, regardless of your level or proficiency, but NOT the official/national language in the country where the "Language 1 Spoken" PolyglotClub Meeting is organized!
When you arrive, you will receive a name tag.
Write your first name, and below, the FOREIGN languages that you speak, whatever your level of fluency.
If you speak more than one idiom, the organizer will provide a paper clip to indicate the language that you want to practice as a priority.
Naturally, other members will read your tag, then, they will address you in the appropriate tongue(s).
If you have any hesitation about the method, please read the paragraphs below.
During a "Language 1 Spoken" PLOC, your native language is only allowed to clarify single/isolated words.
Yet, it should not discourage newcomers.
This approach is designed to ensure maximum practice in the target language and the least possible use of your mother tongue.
Ultimately, this simple rule will enable the participants to focus on their study.
It does not matter if the PLOC is geared towards beginners, intermediate or advanced learners.
All language students need to train orally, regardless of their proficiency.
We guarantee immediate results! During the first few weeks, you may stumble on words, make mistakes, and even feel embarrassed.

However, it is up to you to turn this frustration into further motivation to study, speak, review and practice!

We would love to hear or read your feedback on the concept of Polyglot Club Meetings.
Soon, we will add a specific thread for this purpose on the Polyglot Club "Forum".
So, please tell us what you think about Polyglot Club Meetings by posting your comments, or by contacting the web site Administrators.
Thank you for supporting us in making Polyglot Club ever more effective and helpful!
