Every week, over 150 participants from more than 23 countries gather at our language exchange to learn and socialize while enjoying a drink.🍻

When you step into New To Melbourne, you’ll immediately feel the welcoming vibe; our community is filled with friendly faces eager to help newcomers. Feel free to bring a friend along for some enjoyable language practice! :-)

Our language exchange is absolutely free and takes place every Wednesday night. Arrive by 6 PM for affordable food and drinks to kick off the evening! 🍻🍟

Upon arrival, you’ll receive a badge indicating your native language and the languages you wish to learn. Wear it with your native language on the right and the target languages on the left. Then, mingle and exchange languages!

What to Bring: Just a pen, paper, and your positive energy!

We are seeking friendly volunteers to assist and welcome new members to our group. In return, you’ll enjoy complimentary drinks and food (like pizza wedges) while making new friends with fellow volunteers. If you’re a first-time attendee, we encourage you to apply—many of our volunteers are newcomers too! :-)
