As a Romanian teacher with over 20 years of experience, I am excited to introduce you to this lesson on common drinks in Romanian. In this lesson, we will go over the vocabulary for various drinks that you might encounter while traveling or socializing in Romania. Knowing the words for these drinks will not only help you communicate with locals, but it will also make ordering at cafes and restaurants much easier!

Non-Alcoholic Drinks

Let's start with non-alcoholic drinks first. Here are the most common drinks you will find in Romania:

Apă (AH-puh)

Apă simply means "water" in Romanian, and it is pronounced AH-puh. Apă plată refers to still water, while apă minerală refers to mineral water. If you prefer sparkling water, ask for apă cu gaz.
