Getting Around

When you're traveling to a new place, it's important to be able to ask for directions. Here are some useful travel phrases to help you get around in Russia:

Где находится...?	Gde nakhoditsya...?	Where is...?
Как дойти до...?	Kak doyti do...?	How do I get to...?
Сколько стоит проезд?	Skol'ko stoit proezd?	How much is the fare?
Где можно купить билет?	Gde mozhno kupit' bilet?	Where can I buy a ticket?

• Где находится...? (Gde nakhoditsya...?) means "Where is...?" This phrase is followed by the name of the place you're looking for. For example, Где находится музей? (Gde nakhoditsya muzey?) means "Where is the museum?"
• Как дойти до...? (Kak doyti do...?) means "How do I get to...?" This phrase is also followed by the name of the place you're looking for. For example, Как дойти до парка? (Kak doyti do parka?) means "How do I get to the park?"
• Сколько стоит проезд? (Skol'ko stoit proezd?) means "How much is the fare?" This phrase is used when you're asking about the cost of public transportation.
• Где можно купить билет? (Gde mozhno kupit' bilet?) means "Where can I buy a ticket?" This phrase is useful when you're looking to purchase tickets for transportation, such as a bus or train.

Checking into a Hotel

When you're traveling to Russia, you'll likely need to check into a hotel. Here are some useful phrases to use when you're checking into a hotel:

Мне нужен номер.	Mne nuzhen nomer.	I need a room.
У вас есть свободные номера?	U vas est' svobodnyye nomera?	Do you have any available rooms?
Сколько стоит номер?	Skol'ko stoit nomer?	How much is the room?
Я бы хотел забронировать номер.	Ya by khotel zabronirovat' nomer.	I would like to book a room.

• Мне нужен номер. (Mne nuzhen nomer.) means "I need a room." This phrase is useful when you're first arriving at a hotel.
• У вас есть свободные номера? (U vas est' svobodnyye nomera?) means "Do you have any available rooms?" This phrase is useful when you're checking if there are rooms available.
• Сколько стоит номер? (Skol'ko stoit nomer?) means "How much is the room?" This phrase is used when you're asking about the cost of a room.
• Я бы хотел забронировать номер. (Ya by khotel zabronirovat' nomer.) means "I would like to book a room." This phrase is useful when you're making a reservation for a room.

Buying Tickets

Туда и обратно, пожалуйста.	Tuda i obratno, pozhaluysta.	A round-trip ticket, please.
Когда отправляется поезд?	Kogda otpravlyayetsya poezd?	When does the train leave?
В какой путь нужно идти?	V kakoy put' nuzhno idti?	Which platform do I go to?

• Дайте, пожалуйста, билет. (Dayte, pozhaluysta, bilet.) means "Can I have a ticket, please?" This phrase is used when you're asking for a ticket.
• Туда и обратно, пожалуйста. (Tuda i obratno, pozhaluysta.) means "A round-trip ticket, please." This phrase is used when you're buying a round-trip ticket.
• Когда отправляется поезд? (Kogda otpravlyayetsya poezd?) means "When does the train leave?" This phrase is used when you're asking about the departure time of a train.
