As a Thai language teacher for over 20 years, I have had the pleasure of introducing many students to the basics of the Thai language. In this lesson, we will focus on daily activities and how to describe your daily routine using essential verbs and expressions. By the end of this lesson, you will be able to talk about your daily routine in Thai with confidence.

Essential Verbs
To effectively describe your daily routine in Thai, you will need to learn some essential verbs. Here are a few verbs that will help you talk about your daily activities:
Thai | Pronunciation | English |
---|---|---|
กินข้าว | kin khao | eat rice/food |
นอน | non | sleep |
เรียน | rian | study |
เล่น | len | play |
อ่าน | an | read |
ดูทีวี | du tv | watch TV |
These verbs will come in handy as you learn to describe your daily routine in Thai.
Daily Expressions
In addition to verbs, you will also need to learn some key expressions that will help you describe your daily activities:
- ตื่นนอน (tuen non) - wake up
- แปรงฟัน (braeng fan) - brush teeth
- อาบน้ำ (ap nam) - take a shower
- สวัสดี (sawasdee) - hello/goodbye
- ขอบคุณ (khop khun) - thank you
- แล้วก็ (laeo ko) - and then...
- อย่างไร (yang rai) - how, in what way
- โดยปกติ (doy bok dti) - normally, usually

Here's an example of how you can put these essential verbs and expressions together to describe your daily routine in Thai:
เตรียมตัวเต็มตา (teriam dtua tem dtaa) - Get ready
- ตื่นนอน (tuen non) - Wake up
- แปรงฟัน (braeng fan) - Brush teeth
- อาบน้ำ (ap nam) - Take a shower
- กินข้าวเช้า (kin khao chao) - Eat breakfast
- เรียน (rian) - Study
- กินข้าวเที่ยง (kin khao tiang) - Eat lunch

- I brush my teeth before bed. - ฉันแปรงฟันก่อนนอน (chan braeng fan kor non)
- I study Thai every day. - ฉันเรียนภาษาไทยทุกวัน (chan rian pha-sa thai thuk wan)
- I play sports on the weekends. - ฉันเล่นกีฬาในวันสุดสัปดาห์ (chan len ki-la nai wan sut-sap-daa)
