That's why in this lesson, we are going to focus on useful travel phrases that will help you get around Karnataka with ease.

Useful Travel Phrases

Traveling in a foreign country can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be. With these simple travel phrases, you will be able to get directions, book accommodations, and understand signs in Kannada.

Asking for Directions

If you are lost and need directions, these phrases will help you find your way:

ದಾರಿ ಹೇಳಿ Dhaari heli Can you tell me the way?
ಈ ಜಾಗದ ಹೆಸರು ಏನು? Ee jaagada hesaru enu? What is the name of this place?
ನನಗೆ ಈ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ವಿವರವಿದೆಯೆ? Nanage ee jaagakke hecchavari vivaravideye? Can you give me more details about this place?
ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ದಾರಿ ಏನು? Hoga bekaada dhaari enu? What is the way to go?
ಎಡದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೋಗಿ Edhad mele hogi Go straight
ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಬಾಗಿಲು/ದ್ವಾರ ಇದೆಯೇ? Ellede bagilu/dvaara ideye? Is there a gate/door around here?
