Infinitives used as nouns
In Georgian infinitives are used as nouns, although they are produced from verbs – unlike English.
They can also receive case markers. Most infinitives are produced by the suffix “-ა”. წერ-ა (“to write”), ხატვ-ა (“to paint”), მუშაობ-ა (“to work”), ფრენ-ა (“to fly”), etc. Some infinitives have “-ომ-”, “-ოლ-”, “-ილ-”, “-ულ-” endings. A few infinitives are produced by “სი---ილ-” and “სი---ულ-”.

კვდომა (“to die”), ნდომა (“to want”), ჯდომა (“to sit”), სხდომა (“to sit”), სკდომა (“to break out”), შ(ვ)რომა (“to work”; “to do”), წვდომა (“to reach”), ტყდომა (“to break”), ხტომა (“to jump”);
b)
ბრძოლა (“to fight”), ქროლა (“to blow”), წოლა (“to lie”), ყოლა (“to have”);
c)
დუღილი (“to boil”), წუხილი (“to worry”), ქუხილი (“to thunder”), დუმილი (“to be silent”), ტყუილი (“to lie”), ტკივილი (“to have/be in pain”), ყმუილი (“to wail”), ბღავილი (“to moan”), კნავილი (“to mew”), ყვირილი (“to shout”), ტირილი (“to cry”);
d)
სიკვდილი (“death”), სირბილი (“to run”), სიცილი (“to laugh”), შიმშილი (“hunger” – this is assimilated from სიმშილი); e) სიყვარული (“love”), სიხარული (“joy”), სიბრალული (“to feel pity/sorry for”), სიარული (“to walk”).
The infinitives can have preverbs showing the direction
მისვლა (“to go”), მოსვლა (“to come”), გაფრენა (“to fly away/off”), შემოფრენა (“to fly in hither”), გადარბენა (“to run across”), etc.
Infinitives can appear after modal verbs

b) Future:
