Welcome back to the Complete 0 to A1 Thai Course! In this lesson, we will be learning how to count from 11 to 100 in Thai. It is important to learn numbers as you will need them in many situations like telling time, giving phone numbers, etc. Here are some interesting cultural facts about Thai numbers:

- Thai numbers have some similarities with Chinese numerals - The number 9 is considered lucky in Thailand, while the number 7 is considered unlucky - Numbers are used in Thai daily greetings like Sawasdee. - Thai people tend to use Western numbers in their writing more and more often these days, especially for dates and times.

Numbers 11-20

In Thai, the numbers 11-20 are a combination of "สิบ" (sip; ten) and the digits 1-9. Keep in mind that there are some irregularities in pronunciation for the number 11 and 12.

Here is a list of the numbers 11-20 in Thai:

11 สิบเอ็ด eleven
12 สิบสอง twelve
13 สิบสาม thirteen
14 สิบสี่ fourteen
15 สิบห้า fifteen
16 สิบหก sixteen
17 สิบเจ็ด seventeen

19 สิบเก้า nineteen
20 ยี่สิบ twenty

Example usage:

  • I am 16 years old. - ผมมีอายุสิบหกปี

Numbers 21-100

From 21 to 29, the number "ยี่" (yi) is added before the corresponding number from 1-9. From 30 to 99, the word "สิบ" (sip) meaning ten is placed before the corresponding number from 1-9.

Example usage:
