Giving your Opinion

Now, let's see how we can use these phrases to express our opinion.

Expressing agreement

To show that you agree with someone's opinion or statement, you can use phrases such as:

• Так, точно! (Tak, tochno!) - Yes, exactly!
• Я абсолютно згоден(згодна)! (Ya absolyutno zgoden(zgodna)!) - I absolutely agree!
• Це правда. (Tse pravda.) - It's true.

Expressing disagreement

To disagree with someone's opinion or statement, you can use phrases such as:

• Я не згоден(згодна). (Ya ne zgoden(zgodna).) - I don't agree.
• Я не думаю так. (Ya ne dumayu tak.) - I don't think so.
• Це не так. (Tse ne tak.) - That's not true.

Giving your opinion

To express your opinion, you can use phrases such as:

• На мою думку, ... (Na moyu dumku, ...) - In my opinion, ...

• Я вважаю, що кава краща за чай. (Ya vvazhayu, shcho kava krashcha za chay.) - I think that coffee is better than tea.
• На мою думку, футбол найкращий вид спорту. (Na moyu dumku, futbol naykrashchiy vid sportu.) - In my opinion, football is the best sport.
• Мені здається, що чорний колір - це найкласніший колір. (Meni zdajetʹsya, shcho chornyy kolor - tse nayklasnishyy kolor.) - It seems to me that black color is the coolest color.

Discussing current events

• На мою думку, в Україні необхідно збільшити мінімальну заробітну плату. (Na moyu dumku, v Ukraїni neobhіdno zbіlʹshyty mіnіmalʹnu zarobіtnu platu.) - In my opinion, the minimum wage needs to be increased in Ukraine.
• Мені здається, що карантин був необхідним для боротьби з пандемією. (Meni zdajetʹsya, shcho karantyn buv neobhіdnym dlya borotʹby z pandemiyeyu.) - It seems to me that quarantine was necessary to fight the pandemic.
• Я не згоден(згодна), що проведення Євробачення відбувається без глядачів. (Ya ne zgoden(zgodna), shcho provedennya Єvrobachennya vіdbuvayetʹsya bez glyadachіv.) - I don't agree that the Eurovision is taking place without spectators.

Talking about the future

• Мені здається, що до кінця року ми побачимо скорочення безробіття. (Meni zdajetʹsya, shcho do kіntsya roku my pobachymo skorochennya bezrobіttya.) - It seems to me that we will see a decrease in unemployment by the end of the year.
• Я вважаю, що нова реформа освіти принесе позитивні результати. (Ya vvazhayu, shcho nova reforma osvіty prynese pozityvni rezulʹtaty.) - I think that the new education reform will bring positive results.
• На мою думку, Україна вступить до ЄС вже через кілька років. (Na moyu dumku, Ukraїna vstupytʹ do ЄS vzhe cherez kіlʹka rokіv.) - In my opinion, Ukraine will join the EU in a few years.
