Education system in Somalia[edit | edit source]
The education system in Somalia has been severely affected by the country's civil war. Before the war, the education system was modeled after the Italian system. Nowadays, however, the educational system of Somalia is in crisis. Only one in five children has access to education, and the literacy rate is estimated to be below 38.5%.
Despite the situation, Somali people put great value on education, and many families dream of sending their children to school.
