抽 chōu take out, draw out in Mandarin Chinese
Definition[edit | edit source]
Radical is 手 shŏu “hand”, which at the left side of a character is written as 扌 and is referred to colloquially as 提手 tíshŏu “raised hand.” The other component is 由 yóu “from”. Use your “hand” 扌 to “take something out” 抽 “from” 由 somewhere. Distinguish 抽 from 由 and 油 yóu.
