尽(盡) jìn to the very limit; all; to exhaust in Mandarin Chinese

Definition[edit | edit source]

Radical of the simplified form is 尸 shī “corpse.” Radical of the traditional form is 皿 mĭn “vessel.” Distinguish simplified 尽 from wū 屋.

  • 尽量 (盡量) jìnliàng to the best of one’s ability [A]
  • 尽快 (盡快) jìnkuài as fast as possible [A]
  • 尽可能 (盡可能) jìn kĕ’néng try one’s best, exert one’s maximum effort, to the maximum degree possible [PH]
