Summary Lesia Ukrainka (Larysa Petriwna Kosacz) devoted her entire life to literature.

She wrote for both intellectuals and ordinary people.

She perfectly knew not only the culture of the country in which she was born and raised, but also of other nations.

She had an extensive knowledge of Polish, German, Russian, Italian and French literature.

An unusual talent combined with a huge artistic sensitivity could be used to create the most outstanding pieces of Ukrainian literature.

Lesia Ukrainka had very extensive interests, she beautifully played the piano and she was a polyglot.

The closest family - mother and uncle were her mentors.

From an early age she wrote poems and even tuberculosis of bones, which caused her death in 1913 at the age of forty-two, couldn’t stop her of becoming immortal in the history of Ukrainian literature.

Despite the suffering that accompanied her every day, she tirelessly created new ones literary works.

She published three volumes of poetry, translated many works of literature universal to Ukrainian and wrote twenty-two dramas, including based on Homer's work or the Bible.

Her folklore also found her place in this work.

Poetess traveled extensively to various countries to visit family and friends, as well as healing goals.

She visited almost half of the European countries and more.

Łeśia was very sociable and could charm her erudition and goodness.

She had many friends writers and critics, she often corresponded with them, dividing new thoughts.

The writer was married, but unfortunately due to her health and the creative lifestyle did not have children.

She had three sisters and a brother.

She always published, in her opinion, only the best of her songs, never repeated; she carefully selected their order in their volumes and propagated the same the beauty of Ukrainian literature among its countrymen.

She was one of the pioneers of modernism which we now know, has had its contribution both to tradition and innovation.

She was happy great respect for her environment and was often praised for her achievements.

Despite an incurable disease, thanks to persistence, hard work and outstanding strength the poet's spirit was a huge success.

I am just reflecting on the strength of the spirit and the weakness of the body in the context of creativity Łesi Ukrainki is devoted to this work.

Four chapters are presented in turn: the then historical and literary process in Ukraine, under which the Ukrainian the poet realized her creative tasks; chronology of her life; poetic legacy and drama.

In the annexe, which supplements the work, the poet was shown along with her relatives people in the lens of photographers.

Lesia Ukrainka was undoubtedly an exceptional poet.

Although she died more than a century ago, her works are still current and well-liked among the Ukrainian people, they help him overcome moments of sadness, as well as teach patriotism, fill with joy, hope, and most importantly, they co-create today's Ukrainianness in the broad sense of this words.
