arissleazeMay 2021 Got it ! Thanks!
Duc_May 2021 Erreichen is transitive, ankommen not. Thus erreichen has an accusative object and ankommen not.
arissleazeMay 2021 Got it! Thank you very much |
Duc_May 2021 ”In” here means in the midst of. One might arrive in the midst of a town, but hardly in a person (except one is ingested or something like that) |
Duc_May 2021 As I meant with the example: You can ankommen in a town, a house, a room. Then you are inside. You also can ankommen bei a town, a house. Then you stand (a little) aside. Not in. But you only can ’ankommen bei a friend. At his side. It’s rather similar to the english arrive at/ arrive in.
arissleazeMay 2021 Haha...Duc to the rescue once again. Appreciate it! I’m a little confused. With which preposition(s) do I use ankommen? I’ve seen it with in/ an and bei.
