A phrase in a textbook "The printing press helped DEVELOP new ways of thinking". Isn't it supposed to be "helped TO develop"?:) Thanks for your answer! Vasiliy

Either way it would be grammatically correct. The "TO" is not needed to support the sentence, the TO in this sentence would not add value.

иногда help может быть модальным глаголом. т.е не нести собственного смысла. А быть вспомогательным к смысловому. В данном случае смысловой develop, поэтому перед ним частичка и не ставится
