Extract From My Interview with curator of http://www.mediaartar

• We met with Anton at loud city centre and start wandering through the streets in order to find some quiet spot to talk.We discover that coffee shops nearby are too noisy, so we find ourselves at Pedagogical Institute yard.

• It’s so calm here, only some guys in sportswear are sometimes break the stillness while theirs cigarette breaks.

• How do you personally evaluate experiments of amateur ukrainian artists, that created media at the 90’s?

• And do you think it’s possible to successfully create media and other technological art without any particular education?

• Artists that got there were blown away by its workshops, which educated about innovative technologies, like flash art and HTML.

• Such experience was in some way a turning point for these artists.Today there is no continuing educational basics advanced for contemporary arts, nor private neither public.

• That’s why such initiatives was so important at that time.

• In 2013 I was student of such temporary school by myself that gave me so much knowledge (New Art School at Kiev).

• Later I joined Yanina Prudenko (curator in Open Archive of Ukrainian Media Art) and we created science art school, roughly speaking.

• Basic benefit of these institutions is developing of communication system.

• It gives you a push for further self-development, and the next move is for the artist himself.

• Yes, this system has its flaws because continuing education is more effective: there are consistency and complex of knowledge.

• It is what lacking in Ukraine, and it’s a problem.

• Aspiration and self education are what I believe to be most important in that process.

• And generally it’s a main requirement of modern world.
