Women in the army

• Other claims that service in the army is not suitable for the weaker sex.

• I am persuaded that women are as capable as men in many ways and therefore I agree that the military should be a career open for them.

• In defense of this opinion, it is a fact that indeed women are biologically weaker than men, and extreme loads could affect their health.

• According to statistics that has been provided by the Russian Military Forces, after the first year of training only 43% of the 3.2% women who joined initially continue, with most of them deciding to quit, because they could not handle its physical demands and consequently, many of them are diagnosed with endocrinal problems particular affecting their reproductive system.

• And this is an excellent example, demonstrating how difficult it is for women to serve in the Russian army.

• Considering the problem of women in army from a different angle, it is worth noting that there are a number of specialties where high physical training is not required.

• For example, on a par with men, they could be military communications, engineers, programmers, and so on.

• And this is confirmed by the statistical report of the same organization: 86% of women who have chosen military specialty are not connected with high physical loads, successfully complete their studies and continue to serve on a contract basis.

• This is because neither is it believed that the sex gives some advantages, with the exception of physical strength, nor are there any reasons why women would be worse soldiers than men.
