    • Alternative forms of transport should be encouraged and international laws introduced to control car ownership and use. to what extend do you agree or disagree?
  • Today, almost everyone holds the idea that owning a car is a big comfort.
    • Owning a car means to be able to go everywhere and when desired without relying on the timetable of pubblic transport.
    • But owning a car is really so advantageous?
    • If there were other and better possibilities would be cars seen as a comfort?
    • Take a rail network that connects the suburban to the center, that works very well and that offers discounts to those, who travel for work or study as an example.
    • Who would give up on this kind of comfort to drive a car and being stressed because is stuck in the traffic or because doesn't find a parking?
    • Or, who would like to take the car when in the center of the city there is a very good system of bike sharing that allows to move around the center without polluting and with the additional advantage of staying in shape?
  • Furthermore, who would give up on taking a sky train knowing there is no risk of being late since its rails are not on the roads?
    • When looking at these examples, it is obvious that if governements invested in pubblic transport or in alternative ways of transport the number of the cars on the roads would significantly decrease.
    • There are a lot of kind of stress in everyone's everyday life and if a developped and improved pubblic transport could avoid the stress of being stuck in the traffic most of people would take this chance with both hands.
    • Besides, today many people are sensiblized to the themes of pollution and environment and if it is easy and accessible for them to use alternative forms of transport environment friendly (bike sharing, electric car), they will use them.
    • Thus, the teory that improved ways of transport and the approachability of alternative forms of transport would help to reduce the number of cars on the roads, is difficult to debunk.
    • In contrast, the introduction of international laws to control car ownership and use wouldn't allow to reach the desired effect.
  • They would be seen as a limitation to personal freedom and the car would not be used not because there are other possibilities but because it is forced by law and moreover a person would fight for his right to use his car because there isn't another possibility to go where he needs.
    • Therefore, it can be concluded that alternative ways of transport and the improvement of pubblic transport would decrease the number of cars on the roads and the collaterla damages they cause.
