But if you donate your money or work for a oarticular cause, this means that you really believe in the cause and you are truly devoted to the cause. In simple words, the expression means: don't only talk about beliefs - do something for your beliefs (something real like donating money). In other words: just talking is not enough if you want to help; if you really want to help, you must do something real, for example donate money.
