Reading
- When learning a second language, reading is necessary even if you only aim at bettering your speaking fluency level.
- Sounds odd, isn't it?
- Didn't you notice that it was harder to concentrate on your pronunciation while you were struggling to find the right word or the right phrase?
- But don't read only with you eyes.
- Read pen in hand.
- My little piece of advice would be to proceed this way: - buy cheap books you can pen on pages without any remorse, - when reading, just underline the words you don't understand and the phrases you are not used to.
- - some days later, get back to your book.
- Study the vocabulary you have found out and write it down - everybody's memory is so bad!
- - Don't write lists.
- Lists are good for shopping, not for learning.
- - Write out word clusters.
- Would you like to know what word clusters can be? OK.
- I'll tell you next time.
- Thank you for your corrections and comments.
