Armenians value close personal relationships, which are often built on trust, mutual respect, and care. Armenians use different words to describe their intimate relationships, such as "yev kin" for love and "namak" for friendship. Here are more words you can use to describe different types of relationships:

սեր (ser) ser love
ընկեր (enger) əŋkɛɾ friend
բարեկամ (barekam) baɾɛkam buddy
գյուղատնտես (gyughatntes) ɡjʊʁɑtʰntɛs soulmate

To talk about your relationship with someone, you can use the following expressions:

  • "Ես իմ … (es im ...)": "I have/My ..."

For example:

  • "Ես իմ ընկերը սիրում եմ": "I love my friend"
  • "Ես իմ սերը շնորհակալ եմ": "I appreciate my beloved"

Additionally, these expressions can help to describe your feelings more specifically:

  • "սիրում եմ (sirum em)": "I love"
