Introduction

In this lesson, you will learn vocabulary for common modes of transportation in Central Pashto. You will practice pronunciation and learn how to use these words in sentences and conversations.

Ground Transportation

Car

Cars are the most common form of transportation in Afghanistan, and Central Pashto has several words for "car". The most common is "ماشین" (mashin), which is borrowed from Persian. Other words include "وازی" (wazi) and "دووی" (dovi). Here are some examples:

Taxi

Motorcycle
