Grammar

To form a question in Central Pashto, you need to use the question word at the beginning of the sentence. For example:

To make a sentence negative in Central Pashto, you need to use the word "نه" (ne) after the subject of the sentence.

  • زه تأخیر کړم، هغه نه تأخیر کړی (Za takhir kram, haga ne takhir kri) - I am late, she is not late.

The word "نه" is also used for answering questions in the negative.

  • نه، موږ نه وایسم (Ne, mwa ne waysem) - No, we aren't.

When nouns are used to describe travel items, adjectives come after the noun in Central Pashto, like this:

  • د ډوډی بلېت (Da dodī belat) - Train ticket
  • د هواۍ بلېت (Da hawaī belat) - Airplane ticket
  • د پټ کتل (Da pat kutl) - Backpack
