Nicolaus Copernicus

Born in 1473 in Torun, Nicolaus Copernicus was a Renaissance-era mathematician and astronomer who is famous for his heliocentric theory of the solar system. He believed that the sun was the center of the universe, and that the planets revolved around it. This idea was revolutionary for its time and is now considered a cornerstone of modern astronomy.

Marie Curie

Pope John Paul II

Pope John Paul II was born Karol Józef Wojtyła in Wadowice, Poland in 1920. He served as the head of the Catholic Church from 1978 until his death in 2005. Throughout his life, he was known for his devotion to human rights and social justice, and he played a significant role in bringing about the fall of communism in Poland.

Lech Wałęsa

Lech Wałęsa is a former Polish politician and labor activist who led the Solidarity movement in the 1980s.
