Days of the Week

Urdu, like many other languages, has borrowed the names of the days of the week from other cultures. Most of the days are named after celestial bodies or gods from ancient mythology. Here are the Urdu names of the seven days of the week, along with their English translations and pronunciations:

Some useful phrases you can use with these words include:

کل جمعہ ہے (kal jumma hai) - "Tomorrow is Friday."
اپنے پیر کے لیے کیا خاص تیاریاں کر رہے ہیں؟ (apnay peer kay liye kya khaas tayariyan kar rahay hain?) - "What are you preparing for Monday?"

Months of the Year

Like many other languages, the names of the months in Urdu are based on the lunar calendar. The calendar has twelve months, each with its own name and associated events or significance. Here are the Urdu names of the twelve months, along with their English translations and pronunciations:

Some useful phrases you can use with these words include:

ہم شاعر شعبان میں ملنا چاہتے ہیں (hum shaer shaaban mein milna chahtay hain) - "We want to meet in the month of Shaban."
بستریں رمضان میں فروخت کے لئے دستیاب ہیں (bistreen ramzan mein farokht kay liye dastiyab hain) - "Beds are available for sale in the month of Ramadan."
