To say hello in French here are the most simple ways:
- If you already know the person you can say: salut !
- If you don't know the person you have to say: bonjour !

Quoi de neuf ? | informal | Literally means “what's new?”. Meaning : what's up? |
Au revoir | neutral | Goodbye, a formula used to another person or persons when person addressed is departing. |
Adieu | neutral | Farewell |
