Welcome to our lesson on French Vocabulary → Asking Directions. This article will provide you with the essential vocabulary needed to navigate your way through a French-speaking country. Asking for directions in French can be easy, but the hardest part will be understanding the directions people give you. 😅
Before asking for directions, start with "excusez-moi" or people might think you are rude and will not be likely to help you. Then you can ask one of the following questions: "Est-ce que vous savez où est...", "où est...", "où se trouve...", or "comment aller à/au..." followed by the name of the place you’re looking for.
In this lesson, we will also provide you with a list of vocabulary words that are useful for understanding the directions you will be given. Once you've mastered this lesson, feel free to explore other related topics such as learning about the word près, discovering common drinks in French, or even how to express surprise in French.
