The future tenses in Greek is three, form conveys expectation and used as follows:

Simple Futute[edit | edit source]

Simple Future : Στιγμιαίος ή Απλός μέλλοντας, describes an action or event that will take place in the future without

being interested in its duration. He is trained by using  the particle "θα " before the verb characterizes both future tenses :

θα +  the present tense ending:

Θα πληρώσω αύριο το λογαριασμό / tha plirwsso àvrio to logariasmo

I shall pay the bill tommorow.

Personal Pronouns Greek conjugation: particle «θα» English conjuction

αυτός, αυτή, αυτό θα διαβάσει he /she / it will read
εμείς θα διαβάσουμε we will read
εσείς θα διαβάσετε you will read
αυτοί, αυτές, αυτά θα διαβάσουν they will read

Future Continuous[edit | edit source]

Future Continuous : Εξακολουθητικός Μέλλοντας one is used to show that the activity

or event is completed on a certain moment in the future.

Likewise with the particle «θα», but followed by the verb derived from the aorist stem with endings of the present tense.

(the two latter sentences).

θα +  the present tense ending

Θα προσφέρει λουλούδια στη γυναίκα του κάθε εβδομάδα/ tha prosféri louloùdia sti ginéka tou ôli tin evdomàda

He will be giving his wife flowers every week.

Future Perfect[edit | edit source]

Future perfect : Συντελεσμένος Μέλλοντας refers to the future and shows that the action or the event described by the verb will

be completed in the future before another action, event or a certain point of time.

The Future Perfect is formed by using the particle “θα” the auxiliary verb "έχω "and the participle of the verb :

θα +  auxiliary verb  έχω + participle of the verb

Θα έχω μαγειρέψει πριν έρθεις
