The final -v
When do we use it or not? |
Το τελικό -ν παραμένει στο τέλος του άρθρου όταν η επόμενη λέξη αρχίζει από φωνήεν ή διπλό σύμφωνο : κ, π, τ, μπ, ντ, γκ, τσ, τζ, ψ, ξ | The final -v remains at the end of the article when the next word begins
by a vowel, a double consonant or one of the following letter: κ, π, τ, μπ, ντ, γκ, τσ, τζ, ψ, ξ |
πχ.
To avoid confusion between the male and the neutral gender it was decided
the final -v always be maintained in the male articles and pronouns. e.g. πχ. τον αδερφό, (brother) τον πατέρα (father) |
: πχ.
Also as σαν holds the final -ν.
e.g. Μας κοίταζε σαν χαζός (He was looking at us like a fool). |
De plus, σαν (comme) garde toujours le -ν final. par exemple : Μας κοίταζε σαν χαζός (Il nous regardait comme un idiot). |
It remains at the numerical εκατό(ν) (one hundred) when combined
with another number starting with a vowel: oεκατόν επτά, εκατόν έξι, etc. |
Il reste au numérique εκατό(ν) (cent), lorsqu'il est combiné avec un autre nombre commençant par une voyelle: εκατόν επτά, εκατόν έξι, etc. |
It remains in the causal μιαν when it is followed by a word starting by α:
μιαν άλλη μέρα (another day), μιαν αγάπη (a love), etc. |
It remains in the personal pronoun: αυτόν, τόν, at the third-person singular:
τον σκότωσαν (they killed him), αυτόν θέλω (I want him), τον δέρνουν (they beat him) |
Il reste dans le pronom personnel : αυτόν, τόν, à la troisième personne du singulier : τον σκότωσαν (ils l'ont tué ), αυτόν θέλω ( je le veux ), τον δέρνουν (ils le battent) |
