The Xhosa language is one of the Bantu languages which is spoken by about 8 million people in Southern Africa. Xhosa has its own rich culture and history, and as a language teacher, I always try to introduce some cultural aspects in my lessons as it makes learning more fun and interesting.
Before we dive into the lesson, let me tell you something interesting about Xhosa culture. Did you know that the Xhosa tribe has a tradition called “intonga”, which is a stick fighting competition among young men? You might have seen it in the movie "Black Panther". Stick fighting is regarded as an important part of Xhosa culture and the competition is used as a way to display bravery and strength. Fascinating, isn't it? Now let's learn some Xhosa! 😊

The days of the week in Xhosa are straightforward to learn as they are very similar to the English language. Here is a list of the days of the week in Xhosa:
