Days of the Week

In Tigrinya, the days of the week are easy to remember as they directly translate to "first day," "second day," "third day," and so on. Here is the list of days of the week in Tigrinya:

It is important to note that in Ethiopia and Eritrea, the calendar is different from the Gregorian calendar used in the West. The Ethiopian calendar has 13 months, and the first day of the week is Sunday. Sundays are generally reserved for religious observance, with large gatherings at the Orthodox Church. On Saturdays, which are the 6th day of the week, many people gather to visit friends and family. Weddings are traditionally held on Wednesdays, as it is considered a day of good luck.
