Forming Sentences in the Conditional Mood

The conditional mood is formed by using the verb இருந்தால் (iruṭāl) which means "if". This verb is conjugated according to the subject of the sentence. For example, if the subject is a first person singular pronoun (I), the verb will be conjugated as இருந்தின் (iruṭiṉ).

Examples

• என்னை கண்டினால் அது சரியானது (eṉṉai kaṇṭiṉāl aṭu cariyāṉatu) - If I see it, it is correct.
• நாங்கள் தயார் செய்தினால் அது சரியானது (nāṅkaḷ tayār ceytinaḷ aṭu cariyāṉatu) - If we do it, it is correct.
• நான் தயார் செய்தினால் அது சரியானது (nāṉ tayār ceytinaḷ aṭu cariyāṉatu) - If I do it, it is correct.

When to Use the Conditional Mood
