Cultural Facts[edit | edit source]
In Slovenian culinary tradition, fruits are widely used to make desserts, jams, and preserves. For example, apple strudel, or "jabolčni zavitek," is a popular dessert in Slovenia. It is made of thin pastry, layered with apples, sugar, and cinnamon, and then rolled up and baked in the oven. Another popular dessert is "slivov zavitek," made with plums.
During the summer, many Slovenians go berry picking in the forests surrounding their towns and cities. Blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are abundant in the Slovenian countryside during the months of July and August. It is a popular family activity, as well as a way of getting fresh, healthy fruits for free.
Slovenia is also known for its wine production. Grapes are one of the most widely grown fruits in the country, and there are over 20,000 wineries in Slovenia. Some of the most popular Slovenian wines are white wines, such as sauvignon, chardonnay, and riesling. The Karst region is particularly renowned for its red wines.

- Person 2: Ja, res jih imam rad/a. (Yes, I really like them.)
