The pomegranate is believed to have originated from the blood of Goddess Durga, according to Hindu mythology.

In addition, Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of medicine, considers fruits as an essential part of a healthy diet. Ayurveda recommends eating different kinds of fruits to maintain a healthy body and mind.
