Cultural Information[edit | edit source]
Northern Kurdish is spoken in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Iran. Kurdish began to be written in a modified Persian script during the Ottoman Empire in the 16th and 17th centuries. Nowadays, it is typically written in Latin script or Arabic script.
Education in Northern Kurdistan differs from region to region, and country to country. Some regions may lag behind in education due to societal and economic issues, while some regions may excel due to better infrastructure and more advanced teaching methods. However, education is considered important in Northern Kurdistan and parents often encourage their children to pursue higher education.
