As a language teacher with 20 years of experience, I often get asked about the differences and similarities between French and Spanish. Although these two languages are different, they share many similarities that make it easier for learners to pick up either language once they've mastered one. In this lesson, we will compare the similarities between French and Spanish.

Similarities between French and Spanish[edit | edit source]

When comparing French and Spanish, we can find many similarities in vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. These similarities make it easier for learners of one language to recognize and learn the other language.

French and Spanish share many words that are similar in meaning and pronunciation. This is because both languages have their roots in Latin.
