Opinions[edit | edit source]
When we express our opinions in Macedonian, we use different phrases and structures than when we are stating factual information.
Here are some useful phrases to express your opinion:
Macedonian | Pronunciation | English |
---|---|---|
Според мене | Spored mene | In my opinion |
Мислам дека | Mislam deka | I think that |
Јас сметам дека | Jas smetam deka | I believe that |
За мене | Za mene | For me |
На мојот вкус | Na mojot vkus | In my taste |
Here is an example dialogue so you can see these phrases in context:
- Person 1: Што мислиш за оваа книга? (Shto mislish za ovaa kniga?) (What do you think about this book?)
- Person 2: Според мене, тоа е одлична книга. (Spored mene, toa e odlichna kniga.) (In my opinion, it's an excellent book.)
Positive and Negative Opinions[edit | edit source]
When we give our opinion, it can be positive or negative. To express a positive or negative opinion, we use the words "убав" (ubav) for positive and "лош" (losh) for negative.
Here are some phrases to express positive and negative opinions:

Ми се допаѓа | Mi se dopagja | I like it |
Прекрасно е | Prekrasno e | It's beautiful |
Одлично е | Odlichno e | It's great |
Не ми се допаѓа | Ne mi se dopagja | I don't like it |
Не ми се навидува | Ne mi se naviduva | I don't find it appealing |
Не ми се допаѓа воопшто | Ne mi se dopagja voopsho | I don't like it at all |

- Person 1: Дали ти се допаѓа тоа ресторан? (Dali ti se dopagja toa restoran?) (Do you like that restaurant?)
- Person 2: Прекрасен е, многу ми се допаѓа. (Prekrasen e, mnogu mi se dopagja.) (It's beautiful, I like it a lot.)
Agreeing and Disagreeing[edit | edit source]
When we agree or disagree with someone's opinion, we use different phrases depending on the situation.
Here are some useful phrases to agree or disagree with someone:

Се согласувам | Se soglasuvam | I agree |
Точно така | Tochno taka | Exactly |
Не е точно така | Ne e tochno taka | It's not exactly like that |
Се разбира | Se razbira | Of course |
Не е во ред | Ne e vo red | It's not okay |
Не се согласувам | Ne se soglasuvam | I disagree |
Here is an example dialogue so you can see these phrases in context:
- Person 1: Мислиш ли дека денес е прелеп ден? (Mislis li deka denes e prelep den?) (Do you think today is a beautiful day?)
- Person 2: Точно така, времето е прекрасно. (Tochno taka, vremeto e prekrasno.) (Exactly, the weather is beautiful.)
- Person 1: Што мислиш за новата филмска претстава? (Shto mislish za novata filmska pretstava?) (What do you think about the new movie?)
- Person 2: Не е во ред, филмот беше преглуп. (Ne e vo red, filmot beshe preglup.) (It's not okay, the movie was stupid.)
